We, the team of EO Dent Dental Clinics, will keep working for the good oral health of the elderly, as we have been doing so far. The Better Quality of Life for Our Parents project is one of the initiatives through which we have managed to bring back the smile of many elderly people, and the project is still ongoing.

The Better Quality of Life for Our Parents project started in 2013. The idea was of EO Dent Dental Clinics, jointly with Bredent Group – Germany and Dentatechnica – official representative of Bredent Group for Bulgaria. The project is still ongoing and the idea is for it to continue year after year. For EO Dent Dental Clinics, there were two main conclusions from the large scale social project Better Quality of Life for Our Parents. In addition to the feeling of satisfaction and joy because of the dental and implant care freely provided to patients who have urgent need of it, there is also the anxiety due to the worrying statistics about the general dental health of the Bulgarian elderly patients!

Out of all the examined patients, 425 have a complete loss of teeth in the upper and lower jaw, only in the upper jaw – 321, only in the lower jaw – 197, patients with an imminent loss of teeth – 128. Out of the patients with a complete loss of teeth – only 50 % have prostheses available. Out of those, only 15 % use them when eating, 35 % wear their prostheses only when having social interactions. The other 50 % have no prostheses at all!

It is true, the statistics are worrying. We, the EO Dent Clinics team, however, are filled with hope.

This is a categorical promise – we keep searching for ways and options to bring back the smiles of the most important people in our lives – our parents!

We believe that with joint efforts the worrying statistic can be changed and the smiles and the full lives of our parents can be brought back!
